Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
